Botvac D7 Connected report

This vacuum robot is said to be the best of Neato and is of course the most expensive. Whether he is worth his money … we tell you.

Is the suction robot also useful in the dark ...

To keep it short … yes he is. The Botvac D7 Connected uses a laser technology for navigation that works well in dark rooms or with black floor coverings. Many other vacuum robots have problems. This robot includes all premium features. If no battery is available, it recharges itself and starts cleaning again at the last cleaned place. This function is only available to the expensive devices. In summary, one can say to the navigation … that this is at the highest level. Similar to the best robotic robot from iRobot the Roomba 981.

An extraordinary shape

At first glance, the vacuum cleaner looks different than an ordinary vacuum robot such as the iLife A8. On one side he is round on the other corner. This form is already known from the Kobold VR 300 from Vorwerk. The corners on one side make it easier to get into the corners of the rooms. Compared to the round shape, this is much more efficient.

NO_GO_LINIE hmm what should it be?

This feature is similar to iRobot’s Virtual Wall, but has made Neato’s Botvac D7 Connected much better. While you have to put down a part of iRobot, it is sufficient for this device to draw a line on the MAP on the phone. As a result, the robot knows that he is not allowed to drive in there. Brilliantly implemented. In addition, a zone cleaning function has been integrated with this device. This is unique in the market at the moment. For example, on the map you can draw a square and say the robot … please clean this zone every day. This is for example very convenient at the entrance.

Neato Botvac D7 Connected ... ingenious charging technology

The charging technology of this robot is also ingeniously implemented. Suppose the battery is not enough for the last few meters to clean. If this is the case, the vacuum cleaner robot automatically returns and charges itself. This is nothing new … only this robot charges only as long until the battery for the outstanding area is enough. brilliant

Is the suction power sufficient ...

I do not need to say much about that. The suction power is sufficient for all floor coverings as well as larger crumbs. The only thing this robot does not have is a carpet detection. Nevertheless, the cleaning of carpets is good.

Which botvac is best for me?

The Botvac D6 has a built-in ultra- performance filter in contrast to the Botvac D4 . In addition, the vacuum robot can map several floors . The battery lasts for almost an hour longer. We do not find that relevant since the devices have a very smart charging function. In addition, the D6 has a spiral combi brush. However, in our test we could not find any improved suction power or cleaning by the brush. If you have multiple floors and have a lot of animals, the D6 is the device for you. Otherwise, the D4 is enough … .as you want save about 200 pounds. The Botvac D7 is the same as the D6, but has a zone cleaning function. That means that you can say the suction robot via app … “You clean every morning the zone under the kitchen table” because there are many crumbs on the ground. The entrance area would also be suitable for this. If you want to have this nice feature, you have to put on another 150 pounds.

Conclusion to the Neato Botvac D7 Connected:

In our opinion, this is the best suction robot currently. Many new features are integrated. Charging function, zone cleaning, NO-GO line and also a great mobile app you get on this device. The price of about 700 pounds is appropriate for a robotic vacuum cleaner of this category. If you compare this with the Kobold VR 300 which costs about 950 pounds and where there are actually no functions available, that is pretty cheap. A tip from us. Also look at Ebay and compare the price. They also have new devices and you can save a lot of money.

You do not want to spend so much on a vacuum robot .. then have a look at our test for the devices up to 300 pounds.
