Botvac D4 Connected report
It’s been two years since Neato presented the last vacuum robot Botvac D3. Now comes with the D4 Connected a new generation of devices. How good he is and what is new can be found in us in the following report.
Not suitable for...
Can he really vacuum in dark rooms?
Most, or better, actually all vacuum robots have problems in dark rooms or black flooring. Then the sensors can not recognize anything. The problem has now solved Neato. With a rotating laser, the Botvac D4, D6 and D7 Connected maps the rooms. This is awesome and unique on the market right now. Navigation is at the highest level with this device. You can tell immediately that he has a plan. Even if the battery is empty and he has to recharge his energy, then he starts where he left off. Only the best robot vacuums can do that
Why is that robot so ugly?
If you compare this robot with others like the iLife A8, you notice that the shape is extraordinary. But that also has a big advantage. The Botvac D4 Connected can clean with this form in the corners and he does. The round devices can not come in there.
What is a no-go line please
That’s a great feature. On the phone you get a map of the apartment shown. Then you can draw a line. This tells the Neato D4 Connected not to cross them. So if you have a room, such as a nursery, where Lego bricks are lying on the floor and you do not want to suck them in, you just make a line on the phone. This is similar to the virtual wall of iRobot.
Neato Botvac D4 Connected ... and there's more
What we find absolutely brilliant is the charging function. Assuming the Botvac has 10m2 to clean, but notes the battery is no longer enough. Then he drives back independently and loads up. Many other vacuum robots can do that too, but it only charges until it has enough energy for the rest of the apartment. Just awesome.
How good is the suction power ...
This robot has on the bottom combi brushes that are a lot bigger than other vacuum robots. As a result, the dirt is dissolved and vacuumed. The system works on all floor coverings and is equivalent to other vacuum cleaners.
Conclusion to the Botvac D4 Connected
The robot is just awesome. Many new features that we were able to test at the show and they all work very well. The no-go line as well as the special recharge are simply good renewals. In addition, the navigation is top! The price is around 500 dollars in the higher range, but that’s what it’s worth. If you want a top device you have to pay more. A tip from us. Also look at Ebay and compare the price. They also have new devices and you can save a lot of money.
You do not quite trust the Neato brand and would rather have an iRobot … then take a look at the Roomba 676.
or you are looking for a cheaper vacuum robot …. Then look at the vacuum robots under 300 pounds.
Eufy’s new masterpiece Since the introduction of the original Robovac 11, Eufy has been making reliable and affordable robotic vacuum cleaners. We now expect decent but gradual improvements. The Eufy Robovac 11s defies this trend. He is slimmer (that’s what
